General Chen Do

General Chen Do became a hero by accident, and then rose to command the armies of The Kunming Tiger. He and his wife have raised their daughter to be independent and resourceful. When he contracts for her to marry the dockmaster of Chungking, he had no idea how that would test her resourcefulness and her loyalty.

When the Kunming Tiger tells the general that he has three months to raise an army to invade Chungking, Chen Do has no choice but to comply. That army will be made up of regular soldiers, mercenaries, and poor farmers seeking a paycheck. This variety will stretch General Chen Do’s leadership almost beyond anything for which his previous military career has prepared him.

And then there is the problem of his daughter. To whom will she be loyal? Will she live up to the expectations he and Madame Chen have for her?
